Apr 29 2020 · Answer: The water enters the boiler from the cascade tank will evaporate .Produced steam is very fine and will contain so chloride as it is heavier .So the chloride will remain in the water drum. As more feed water will enter the boiler the chlorides will be added .This process is continuous and if the chlorine id not blown down regularly it will go beyond limit though using distilled water.
Therefore to give new sodium ions to the Resin the cheapest and easiest means would be to pass the solution of Sodium chloride (common-salt) through the Resin. The same resin can be used over and over again to produce the soft water a- periodic dosage of Sodium chloride (common salt) solution.

Mar 28 2021 · Absolutely do not use water softened with ion exchange softeners. Yes the hardness minerals are stripped out. But it is "ion exchange" -- and the exchanged cation is sodium. Some but by no means all of the chloride is rinsed -- but there is as much chloride left as there is sodium added. So basically ion exchange softened water is dilute seawater.
